Each star’s light has its own unique colour signature. It’s like a fingerprint. 

Of the 200-400 billion stars in our galaxy we can only see 9096 at night. The International Star Registry offers a service where you can name one of the unseen stars; an act of suburban sublime connect to the cosmos.

These works are stars that have been named by strangers. Their unique colour signatures have been translated into smoke and burnt onto paper, so we can star gaze at them and bring them to light. 

This work is the colour signature of a star called The Only Lie I Ever Told, I Never Loved You, named in the International Star Registry by a stranger. I transferred the unique colour signature of the star's light into a smoke bomb and burnt it on the paper, so we can star gaze at it.
